About Us

Restaurant life

A pint-sized bistro only a stone’s throw from the beautiful Cowes foreshore on Victoria’s Phillip Island, Anerie has quickly become an institution since opening its doors in 2021.

Its high quality traditional cuisine and its warm and friendly service make it one of the essential eateries on the island. 12 Thompson Ave has been the site of many businesses over the last 100 years, its first incarnation was West’s General Store in the early 1900’s.

Today it pays homage to its inspiration, all those beautiful little bistros and brasseries across France and mainland Europe, with hand decoupaged tables, velvet chairs, silverware, vintage napery and the owners personal collection of art and collectibles which give the restaurant a welcoming and warm atmosphere, you will be whisked away to a far away place, if only for a few short hours.

The friendly welcome, authentic setting, eclectic crockery and the beautiful decor make it a place of choice for a romantic evening or a relaxed dinner with friends.

In summer, it is possible to sit on the terrace at Anerie to enjoy the good weather while enjoying a beautiful meal and a gorgeous glass or two of wine.

We have been coming to Phillip island regularly for last seven years, tried every restaurant and have a few go to favourites, but after our first experience here, Anerie has gone to top of the list one of best restaurants in Victoria. Food was amazing!!! Next level and the service to match. Thank you for a great “long overdue date night”.

Had a beautiful birthday dinner for my partner, and the staff's personal touch made the experience perfect. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was authentically French. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

A group of us came on our annual Phillip island trip. I walked passed anerie on the first night we arrived and knew it was a restaurant we had to try - organised a reservation for a couple of days later and I can honestly say it not only met but exceeded our expectations. The hospitality the food the ambiance were all of a first class standard. We organized for the owner to chose entree and mains for us as there was a group of 6 and we wanted a good variety and safe to say she did not disappoint took some snaps of the mains but got too excited when the entree came out forgot to take pics. Try it for yourself you wont be disappointed
